We are a small non-profit organization based in Central Pennsylvania. Our President, Renae Metz, lives in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania. She is a full-time accountant as well as a mother to two beautiful girls. Renae found a Facebook page one night dedicated to finding dogs in high kill shelters a safe haven before they were to be euthanized. The shelters often kill upwards of twenty pit-bull type dogs per day because they are often the least likely to be adopted due to the negative stereo-types attached to the breed. Renae rescued her first dog from the shelter within two weeks and ADBBR took off from there.

We know that we can't save them all, but we try. We dedicate all of our free time to these dogs who deserve so much more than the negative treatment they receive more often than not. We hope to change the minds and hearts of those who have not had the privilege of having a bully best friend. We hope that you will help us every step of the way.

“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”
